Selected answer A

This is the original selected option. The response record itself does not explain why the learner chose it.
Supported answer D
“a treatment’s sustained advantage in legibility can conceal its poorer performance in preserving the engraving itself.”
The passage defines preservation in terms of engraved structure. Better legibility does not establish better structural preservation.
Teacher review Pending
The sample distinguishes the recorded answer-key result from a teacher’s confirmation. It does not represent a completed human review or a published learner report.
Reviewing and releasing a result are separate decisions. Ask your institution which feedback is ready to use.

An estimated score is an educational indicator. It is not an official ETS or College Board score and does not establish future performance.
Response coverage
Check what was answered and which source records are available. Missing evidence is different from evidence of an incorrect answer.

Read who or what produced the feedback and whether educator review is complete. Preliminary output may change after review.
Time & history
Use recorded timing and earlier attempts as context. Different tasks, review states, or assessment conditions can affect how results should be compared.

I think the selected-answer result is wrong. What should I bring?
Identify the assessment and question. Bring the original response, relevant passage or source material, the displayed key, and the explanation you want to question.
My Writing or Speaking result is pending. Is that a zero?
No. Pending means the available record has not reached the relevant grading or confirmation stage. Ask your institution which step remains incomplete.
Where can I request human review?
For an institution-managed account, start with the institution responsible for the assessment. A student or guardian may also contact CS&E about a materially consequential automated result, subject to the applicable record and rights process.
